description. By default this text will usually be an excerpt of the first few words

Include links in text status update and not the links box. The update will display
the link as clickable in addition to the normal title, photo, and meta description of
the link. At a minimum this allows an additional opportunity for a fan to click the
link. These links stand out as different and can get clicked on more.

Keep fans on Facebook: When promoting contests, email sign ups, sales pages
or other calls to action, send fans to a Facebook tab for these actions whenever
possible. Research shows conversion rates increase when Facebook users do not
have to leave Facebook.

8. Avoid complicated words and phrases: Fans respond more to simple language.
9. Talk about Facebook: Facebook is the most shareable topic on Facebook
(according to HubSpot research). Try to include Facebook mentions that are
relevant to your brand or industry instead of just posting about Facebook
generically.
10 Use short status updates: Use 10 words or less when possible.
Celebrate milestones. People like numbers and they like celebrating. Share with
fans when you reach 5000 fans or your first status with 100 likes. The more
creative the better.
Exclaim! Start a status update with an enthusiastic declaration like “Wow,”
“Whoa!” or “Hot Diggiddy.” Use corny eclamations at your own risk.

Want to sync your Google Plus updates to other social networks, without having to use a browser extension? There's a new way to do this, called "Agent G," which is actually a special Google Plus user account. Once configured, you can automatically share your Google Plus updates to the social networks of your choice, just by adding "Agent G" alongside the names of the Circles or friends you're sharing a post with on Google Plus

"Agent G" Syncs Google+ to Other Sites
To use the service, you must first associate Agent G with your preferred social networking services, using OAuth (on Twitter and Identica) and Facebook Connect.  In testing, the service was a little buggy. It took two times to register Agent G with Twitter, three times to register with Facebook, and we're still waiting on Identica. Maybe we weren't being patient enough, but Agent G's developer Saggi Malachi says the registration process should only take seconds. It did not.

Still, even with its kinks, you have to admit - this is a pretty cool idea. And as for the bugs, the source code will be released in just a few days, so crowd-sourced improvements should follow soon after, or so we hope.

How to Use Agent G
To use Agent G, do the following:

Sign in with Identi.ca, Twitter or Facebook on this page: http://gplus.sagg.im. (See the buttons on the upper right of the page.)
Once connected, you will be given an authentication string. Create a Google+ post containing your authentication string and share it only with +Agent G.

You can now sync Google+ posts to your connected accounts by simply sharing your post with +Agent G

That's it!

We should note, there's a lag here, as well. In tests, syncs between services took several minutes, which is far from being real-time. As they say, your mileage may vary.

1. Install anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
Install Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software on your computer before you start surfing the first time. The difference between a computer virus and spyware is that - a virus is a malicious piece of computer code that can be implanted on any computer and it can result in destruction of the file systems of your computer and can be transferred from one computer to another and spread like the biological virus. A spyware is a program that collects information about you without your knowledge or consent. A spyware does not spread like a virus.

2. Keep your computer firewall ON all the time.
Most anti-virus soft wares come with a firewall. If the operating system that you are using is Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Macintosh OS X, then it has an in-built firewall. Usually, the firewall is off when the computer is shipped to you, so make you read instructions on how to turn on the firewall. A firewall prevents direct communication between your computer and another computer (a hacker's computer).

3. Turn on the automatic software updates feature
Turn on the automatic updates feature of your anti-virus, anti-spyware, OS, and firewall on and stay current. This is a good online computer security measure. It is important that you have the most current protection. Hackers search on the internet for computers that are either unprotected or don't have the latest protection features. Hackers can hack into your computer and install software on your computer. This will enable them to steal login details of your online bank accounts, other membership sites like Ebay, Paypal etc. and also send Spam emails that appear to originate from your computer. Sending Spam emails that appear to originate from your email address can result in your account being revoked!

4. Store your computer information safely
Storing your computer information safely can help the technician who is fixing/ restoring your computer. For example, on Windows, Click Start and then choose Run. This will bring up small window wherein you need to type ‘msinfo32' without the quotes. This will bring up a system window. On this widow, choose the file menu and then Export. Export your system information on to a CD. Similarly, for other operating systems, search on Google.com for information on storing the system information on a CD.

5. Backup important files
It is important to back up important files. Determine what you would do to restore your computer if it has been attacked. Pretend that your computer file system has been corrupted and then what steps would you take to restore. You will realize that having a backup can make things easy for you.

6. Use strong password authentication
When you signup for an online membership like online bank, , Paypal, Ebay etc., do not use weak passwords that can make it easy for people who know you or have your some information about, easy to hack. Using your significant other's name, child's name, pet's name etc. are weak. Use something stronger like first letters of the address of the house where you were born concatenated to your birth year or something along those lines. It is best if the password is NOT some meaningful word!

7. Protect your personal information
If you are asked to give out personal information like phone number, address, SSN, identification numbers etc. on the internet, use more caution. Find out exactly why and how they will be used. If there is a link in your email that asks you to login by clicking on the link, then don't! Usually genuine emails don't ask you to login directly by clicking a link in the email. If you want to login to your membership accounts, always open a new browser and then type the URL of the website (to login to Paypal account, type paypal.com on the new browser instead of clicking on the link from an email that is asking you to login.).
If you are giving out credit card information, then the page that accepts credit card information must have secure encryption. The URL usually begins with https instead of the regular http. If you right click and select properties, the Connection section should read something like 128 bit encryption (High) and also must have 1024 bit exchange.

A fan page lets you grow as big as you want, send updates to an unlimited number of people, and keep the focus on the organization without revealing the administrator (unless you want to).
Okay, so once you’ve set up your account as a fan page, then what? Here are some tips:

Upload a logo or photo with a web address at the bottom. 

It won’t be clickable, but fans can see where to go if they want to visit your website.

Fill out your info page completely. 

Here you can have a clickable web address, company overview, mission, and products. You can give only what Facebook asks for or get creative and provide other information as well.
For example, in your company overview, you can list links to pages on your website, your newsletter signup form, other social media, or whatever you want.

Use FBML to create a landing page. 

FBML is Facebook’s version of HTML, which you can use with an application called Static FBML. This lets you render basic HTML in a box or tab on your page. You won’t find it in your default applications, but you can find it with a search in the application directory.
The idea is that instead of sending people to your wall, as most people do, you send them to a landing page with whatever message you want to provide. For example, you can give a short description of your organization and tell people to click the “become a fan” button.
This is one of those “duh” things you may not think about at first, but which can dramatically increase your Facebook growth. A landing page is just good direct marketing.

Use your tabs wisely.

 If you think of a Facebook page as a secondary website for your business, you’ll realize that the tabs at the top of the page are like site navigation. You can have a tab for your newsletter, a tab for donations, a tab for products, etc. How? With that nifty FBML application.

Don’t forget the sidebar.

 Anything you can put in your tabs, you can also put in your sidebar. A newsletter signup form fits here nicely. So does a poll (another application you can add), affiliate banner, or set of links.

Post often.

 The same rules apply to Facebook as any other social media. It’s all about content and interaction. Posting something every few weeks won’t cut it. Post every day or even several times a day to make sure you’re showing up in the news feeds of your fans. This can be links to your blog, product announcements, questions, news items, or anything your fans would be interested in.
Every time someone becomes a fan, comments, clicks the “like” link, or shares your post, it shows up in that fan’s news feed for all their friends to see. So “viral” is built in.

Link to your page from everywhere.

 If you want fans, you have to let people know you’re on Facebook. Put an icon or link in your newsletter, on your website or blog, in your email footer, everywhere.

Email and blog it. 

Don’t be shy. Do an email blast driving subscribers to your fan page. Post a blog about what’s happening on your fan page with an invitation to become a fan.

Send updates to your fans. 

This feature is a little like email. Don’t abuse it, because Facebook fans aren’t expecting (and don’t want) an avalanche of messages from you. But used wisely, this handy feature lets you update fans about your products, sales, and events.

Subscribe to similar fan pages and groups.

You can buy ads on Facebook, but the consensus is that response is poor. A cheap way to reach beyond your fans and attract new fans is to subscribe to similar pages and groups and post short messages inviting people to visit your page. Don’t do it too often. And don’t be spammy.
There’s more you can do with Facebook, but this is plenty to get you started.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. I’ve found that Facebook can drive significant traffic to your website as your fan base grows. And it gives you a totally independent way to interact with potential customers or supporters.

most important feature of twitter. You can use the twitter advanced search tool to
create very elaborate searches that can filter out only the tweets that address
your specific industry in your specific geography. Or you can find people talking
about your expertise, whining about a problem you can help with, or proving a
solution you need. Searches you create on twitter also produce an RSS feed so
you can set your searches up in a way that deliver the results to your RSS reader
on a daily basis. I would also include the use of the #hashtag function (I wrote in
greater detail about hashtag use here) as a search tool. Get in the habit of using
it to promote your events and promotions and while attending events, in person
or online, as it’s a great way to find and connect with like-minded folks attending
events. People who follow the event tag from afar will bump into your content this
way as well. Once again, 3rd party tools like Seesmic Desktop and Tweetdeck
allow you to monitor your searches, including hashtags, on your desktop.

5. Be easy to retweet and follow – This one is both on twitter and off. Sharing
great info is the first rule, but you can do other things as well. While twitter allows
140 characters, if you aim for 120 your tweets will be easier for someone to RT.
This way people can add their handle and a bit of commentary. Use tools, such
as the Tweetmeme Wordpress plugin I have at the beginning of this post (go
ahead you know you want to click that green retweet), that make your content off
twitter easy to tweet. Add your “ follow me on twitter” button to web pages, email
newsletters and email signature. Add your @name to your business cards,
stationary and invoices.
